Blyde River Canyon Lodge

Blyde River Canyon Lodge is situated along the majestic Panoramic Route of Mpumalanga / Limpopo Province, just a 40-minute drive to the Kruger National Park Orpen Gate.

Nestled between the majestic Drakensberg Mountains, it offers travellers a unique bush experience whilst soaking up the beauty of the natural surrounds.

The lodge itself is on an 85 ha fully game fenced, botanical nature reserve.


Accommodation comprises six (6) double / twin rooms with en-suites and one (1) Honeymoon Suite with en-suite.

We have a luxury two bed roomed cottage with two bedrooms and two bathrooms en-suite.

All rooms are tastefully furnished, fully air-conditioned and are equipped with satellite TV, Internet as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Each room leads out onto the tranquil gardens where zebra and wildebeest wander by.

A blend of Victorian and African decor compliments the beauty and majesty of 900 year old Jackelberry trees, whose shade cascades over the pristine lawn areas.


Full English breakfasts are served daily and delicious country cuisine is available on request for lunch and dinner.

We are located at the entrance to the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve. The lodge is situated four and a half hours North East of Johannesburg / Pretoria.
Take the N12 from Johannesburg and the N4 from Pretoria, past Witbank and Middelburg to Belfast. Turn onto the R540 to Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Take the R36 to Ohrigstad, Strijdom Tunnel and Abel Erasmus Pass, onto the R527 in the direction of Hoedspruit. Turn right at the Reptile Park (on your left hand side) onto the R531 Orpen/Acornhoek road. Travel for about 15kms along the R531. Turn to the right at the sign board to Swadini D2189, travel (7km) and we are on the right in the Blyde River Botanical Reserve.
